The Purification Tank, originating from Japan and known as JOHKASOU in Chinese, is a small-scale domestic wastewater treatment unit. It is used for the treatment of decentralized domestic wastewater or similar types of wastewater.Wastewater enters the purification tank, where the sedimentation separator performs preliminary treatment to remove heavier particles and suspended solids, enhancing the biodegradability of the wastewater. The pre-filtration tank is filled with media, where anaerobic biofilms on the media remove soluble organic matter. The aeration tank combines aeration, high filtration rate, suspended solids retention, and regular backwashing. The overflow weir of the sedimentation tank is equipped with a disinfection device, which treats the effluent for disinfection.
