Form-Fitting Waterproof Cap

A heat-shrink waterproof cap is a polyethylene material treated with high-energy ion radiation, taking the shape of a hat. It is formed by expanding polyethylene pipe material and covering it with a layer of hot-melt adhesive film. The heat-shrink waterproof cap boasts high mechanical strength, aging resistance, resistance to environmental stress cracking, and good sealing properties, with a long service life. This product is suitable for waterproofing and protection of the ends of polyurethane foam plastic thermal insulation pipes in various sizes.

Construction Method:

Place heat shrink waterproof caps over the ends of steel pipes, clean off foam powder and rust to ST3 grade, and use sandpaper to wipe clean any greasy spots.

Clean and abrade the overlap between the large end of the heat shrink waterproof cap and the jacket.

3. Preheat the steel pipes and the abraded jacket sections to 50°C, ensuring the original protective coating is not compromised.

4. Slide the heat shrink waterproof cap onto the wire

5. Heat the large end of the heat shrink waterproof cap evenly using a heater until the thermoplastic adhesive oozes out. (If the ambient temperature is high and there is slippage when heating the small end, cover it with a damp cloth).

Do not overheat the heat shrink waterproof cap at the end (where it adheres to the foam).

7. Heat the small end of the heat-shrink waterproof cap until the hot melt adhesive oozes out. After shrinkage is complete, roll the waterproof cap once with a roller.

8. After construction, there should be no bubbles, no surface carbonization, and no obvious creases. All edges should have adhesive overflow, indicating a strong bond.

Transportation and Storage:

Shrinkable waterproof caps must be protected from heavy pressure, direct sunlight, and rain. They should not come into contact with harmful substances like oils and solvents. Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources, and the shelf life is 18 months.
