One, Application of S(SH) Type Mid-Sized Centrifugal Pump:
The S(SH) type middle-open pump is suitable for transferring clear water or other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water (neutral or slightly corrosive liquids containing trace particles). The S(SH) type middle-open pump is applicable for urban water supply, large-scale water conservancy projects, farmland irrigation, flood drainage, pumping stations, power stations, mining, industrial water supply systems, air conditioning systems, fire protection systems, shipbuilding industry, and is also suitable for general use in the oil refining industry.
Section 2: Structural Description and Features of S(SH) Type Centrifugal Pumps
1. The S(SH) series single-stage, double-suction centrifugal pump (mid-suction pump) is a single-stage, double-suction, volute-type centrifugal pump with the casing opened axially in the middle. Compared to other pumps of the same type, the S(SH) type mid-suction pump features a long service life, high efficiency, reasonable structure, low operating costs, and easy installation and maintenance. The suction and discharge ports of the S(SH) type mid-suction pump are both below the water pump shaft centerline, positioned vertically to the axis in a horizontal direction, and the casing is opened in the middle. During maintenance, no disassembly of the inlet is required. The discharge pipeline and motor (or other prime mover) are viewed from the coupling towards the pump; the pump rotates counterclockwise. The rotation can also be adjusted to clockwise, if special customer requirements are met.
2. Key components of the S(SH) type middle-split pump include: pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double-suction sealing ring, shaft sleeve, bearings, etc. The material for the S(SH) type middle-split pump can be copper, cast iron, nodular iron, 316 stainless steel, 416 stainless steel, dual-directional steel, Hastelloy, Montan alloy, titanium alloy, and No. 20 alloy, etc.
3. The pump body and cover form the impeller's working chamber. Tube screw holes for installing vacuum and pressure gauges are machined on the inlet and outlet water flanges. Lower tube screw holes for draining water are also provided on the lower part of the flanges. The flanges are manufactured according to GB standards, and can also be made to ISO, DIN, BS, or ANSI standards.
4. The hydraulic design of the impeller utilizes the most advanced CFD technology, thereby enhancing the hydraulic efficiency of the S(SH) type split case pump. The impeller is statically balanced and secured to the shaft with sleeve and nuts on both sides. Its axial position can be adjusted by the sleeve nuts. The axial force of the impeller is balanced by the symmetrical arrangement of its blades, with any remaining axial force being absorbed by the bearings at the shaft end.
5. The S(SH) type mid-open pump shaft is supported by two sets of rolling bearings, mounted at both ends of the pump body. The unique bearing housing design allows for lubrication with grease or light oil, with a design life of over 100,000 hours. Double-row thrust bearings and sealed bearings are also available. The pump body features a double-suction sealing ring, which is easy to remove and replace. The S(SH) type mid-open pump is directly driven by an electric motor via an elastic pinion coupling or a metal strip coupling. The drive motor can also be an internal combustion engine or a gas turbine.
6. The shaft sleeve of S(SH) type mid-open pumps can be made from various materials to prevent shaft corrosion and wear, and the sleeve is replaceable. The pump body and impeller are equipped with a replaceable wear ring to prevent wear, making replacement easy, maintenance costs low, while ensuring operating clearance and high efficiency.
7. The shaft seal of the S(SH) type split case pump can be sealed with packing or mechanical seal. The shaft seal cooling flush water can enter the shaft seal chamber through the slots on the opening surface of the pump cover, or through an external cooling water pipe. No need to disassemble the inlet and outlet pipes or the motor during maintenance of the S(SH) type split case pump, making it convenient for repairs. According to customer requirements, the pump structure and dimensions can be modified.

From the motor end, the pump shaft rotates clockwise (i.e., the pump inlet is on the right). Upon customer's request, it can be reversed to rotate counterclockwise. The reverse rotation of the pump is indicated by adding the letter "F" at the end of the pump model.
