The "Mini Tram" Rolls into the Fields! On April 19th, in the Ganliu Zui Town of Bashan District, a "field transport vehicle" customized for mountainous orchards is climbing slopes and delivering supplies.
Customized "Mini Monorail" Helps Transport Goods Over Slopes
At Xiao Yang's orchard, one can see that the orchard is designed with four routes, totaling approximately 1,000 meters in length. On the tracks, a simple cargo car, about 2 meters long, is being pulled uphill by a locomotive, transporting goods.
Xiao Yang told reporters that this is a custom-designed "field transportation vehicle" for mountainous orchards, which can be designed with different routes according to varying terrains and is powered by fuel, capable of carrying over 600 pounds of agricultural supplies and fruit at one time.

This seemingly simple transport vehicle not only saves labor but also enhances production efficiency. Generally, transporting a batch of supplies requires an hour or even several hours of manual labor, often from the bottom to the top of a mountain. With this "field transport vehicle," the entire task can be completed in just minutes, significantly boosting productivity.
The orchard saves 100,000 yuan in labor costs annually.
The "Rural Transport Vehicle" is also widely used for transporting animal manure and picking fruits in mountainous orchards. For mountainous orchards, traditional transportation often incurs high costs. If calculated based on manual labor, the annual labor cost can exceed 100,000 yuan. However, using the "Rural Transport Vehicle" to transport goods can save about 80% of the cost, resulting in savings of approximately 100,000 yuan in labor costs each year.
Bashan District's Agricultural Machinery Station official told us that the application of this achievement plays a crucial role in resolving labor shortages in mountainous orchards, reducing production costs, enhancing agricultural profitability, and increasing farmers' income. In the next phase, the district plans to promote the use of this high-efficiency agricultural machinery in other towns and streets, and actively connect with impoverished farmers to enable them to experience the poverty alleviation through agricultural technology.
