304 stainless steel plates are classified into two types by manufacturing method: hot rolled and cold rolled. They are further divided into five categories based on the organizational characteristics of the steel: Austenitic, Austenitic-Ferritic, Ferritic, Martensitic, and Precipitation Hardening. They are required to withstand corrosion from various acids such as oxalic acid, sulfuric acid-sulfate iron, nitric acid, nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid-sulfate copper, phosphoric acid, formic acid, and acetic acid. They are widely used in industries such as chemicals, food, papermaking, petroleum, atomic energy, as well as in construction, kitchenware, tableware, vehicles, and various home appliance components.
