(1) Selection of Welding Wire. The brand of the filler wire should be chosen based on the base material, generally following the principle of being of the same quality. Occasionally, to enhance the plasticity of the joint, a welding wire with slightly lower alloying content than the base material can be selected. The choice of wire diameter should be determined by the thickness of the base material.
(2) Selection of power source and polarity. Titanium and titanium alloy welding generally uses a DC manual tungsten electrode argon arc power source, with the polarity connection being DC positive.
(3) Tungsten electrode selection. The diameter of the tungsten electrode should be selected based on the wall thickness of the titanium alloy tube, usually between 1.0-3.0mm. The tip of the tungsten electrode should be ground to a conical shape with an angle of 25° to 45°.
(4) Welding Current and Other Parameter Selection
