Custom-shaped Flange

Non-standard flanges, also known as odd-shaped flanges, serve as sealing and fastening components. They are widely used in large containers in aerospace, petrochemical, and other fields. Even without considering the issue of processing capacity, due to their massive size, the overall processing of non-standard flanges is impossible solely due to transportation reasons, and they must be processed in sections.

Features

Generally, the irregular flanges are processed into several arc segments. First, the rough casting is forged into square billets, then cold-bent into arc segments. After stress-relieving heat treatment, they are assembled into a complete circle and machined into the designed shape and size on a vertical lathe. They are then transported to the construction site, where the arc segments are welded together to form a complete irregular flange and assembled with the pressure vessel.

Due to the differing specific dimensions represented by the nominal diameter of the container's cylindrical shell and the pipe's nominal diameter for non-standard flanges, container flanges and pipe flanges with the same nominal diameter also differ in size. They cannot be used interchangeably.
