Biomass pellet fuel is a processed solid fuel that is prone to contamination with various impurities during the manufacturing process. Here are some simple methods to identify the quality of biomass fuel:
1. Look at the color, luster, purity, and ash content after combustion of the biomass fuel pellets. High-quality biomass fuel pellets have good conditions and less ash after combustion; the color of the pellets is also attractive.
2. Odor, as biomass fuel cannot contain any additives during the processing, most types of biomass fuel pellets should retain the aroma of their raw materials and should not have any pungent smells; for instance: pine has a pine scent, while mixed wood does not have this smell, relatively flat.
3. Inquiry, i.e., meticulously inquire about the raw materials used by the manufacturer.
4. Touch it with your hands to feel whether the surface is smooth, free of cracks and splinters, and has high hardness; these biomass fuel pellets have good quality.
5. Take a handful of granules, soak in an adequate amount of boiling water, wait until all the granules disperse, then separate the raw materials from impurities using a sieve. You can clearly see the difference between the raw materials and impurities.
