Hengshui Laser Cutting ManufacturerWhat are the processes involved in laser cutting?
The laser cutting process utilizes the energy released when a laser beam is directed onto the steel surface to melt and vaporize stainless steel. The laser source typically employs a CO2 laser beam with a working power ranging from 500 to 2500 watts. This power level is actually lower than what many household electric heaters require. However, through the use of lenses and mirrors, the laser beam is concentrated into a very small area. The highly focused energy allows for rapid localized heating, causing the stainless steel to vaporize. Additionally, due to the extreme concentration of energy, only a small amount of heat is transferred to other parts of the steel, resulting in minimal or no deformation. Lasers can accurately cut complex shapes of stock, and the cut stock does not require further processing.
