Methods/Steps
Disassembly and Cleaning: Over time, kitchen range hoods accumulate a thick layer of greasy dirt on the filter mesh cover, and the internal main unit is even more caked with grease. At this point, it's necessary to disassemble the cover for cleaning. Unscrew the two screws on the filter mesh cover, and be sure to keep the screws safe; don't lose them. Then, soak a plate of hot water with a little detergent for half an hour. Use a soft brush to scrub the filter mesh, outer cover, and oil bowl clean and dry. The internal main unit can only be sprayed with a special cleaning agent, then wipe it clean with a sponge. Reassemble everything, and you're done.
Pressure Cooker Steam Method: First, boil a pot of water in the pressure cooker, then open the valve to allow the steam from the pressure to directly spray the filter oil cover of the exhaust fan. Turn on the exhaust fan, allowing the steam to continuously draw into the fan. Under the action of high-temperature steam, the oil污 inside the filter cover and the main unit melt and flow into the oil bowl with the steam. After the oil bowl is full, discard it and fill it with more oil污 water. Once clean, simply wipe the surface water with a cloth.Regular Cleaning: After cooking and stir-frying, clean the surface and exterior of the range hood filter daily. Avoid waiting until the oil residue is very thick before cleaning, as it is extremely difficult to remove and will shorten the lifespan of the range hood, preventing proper exhaust of smoke.
Specialty Kitchen Cleaner: Always keep a bottle of specialty kitchen cleaner on hand to remove stubborn stains. For those hard-to-clean greasy spots you see daily, just spray it on, wait for two to three minutes, then wipe it clean and the surface will be smooth as new. Don't wait until later when cleaning will be more麻烦.
Homemade Cleaner: Use a mineral water bottle, drill a few holes in the cap, then fill it with warm water, add a moderate amount of white vinegar, and mix in dishwashing liquid. The ratio is 3:2:1. Screw the cap on, shake well, and spray the liquid onto the grease filter cover of the range hood. After a few sprays, the dirty water will flow into the oil bowl. When the oil and water in the bowl are full, pour them out and repeat the process with fresh cleaner. In no time, the oil bowl will be clean, just wipe away any water stains with a cloth.
After cleaning, wipe with detergent: After you've cleaned the range hood, use a clean rag dipped in detergent to wipe the filter cover. Apply some on the main unit's interior and a few drops in the oil bowl. Since you've already wiped with detergent, you can easily clean it next time with a rag, making the cleaning process more convenient and quick.
