Principle of operation for cement ball mill

The ball mill for cement is composed of a horizontal cylinder, hollow shafts for feeding and discharging materials, and grinding heads, etc. It is a horizontal cylindrical rotating device, driven by external gear. Materials are evenly fed into the mill's first compartment through the feeding hollow shaft spiral, where there are stepped or corrugated lining plates and steel balls of various sizes. As the cylinder rotates, centrifugal force brings the steel balls to a certain height before they fall, creating a heavy impact and grinding action. After coarse grinding in the first compartment, the material passes through a single-layer partition plate into the second compartment, which is lined with flat plates for further grinding. The powdered material is then discharged through a grate plate, completing the powder grinding process.

Cement Ball Mill Classification and Features

(1) Standard Cement Ball Mill: The standard cement ball mill is predominantly used in closed-circuit grinding systems, characterized by high grinding efficiency, large mill output, and low energy consumption. It particularly excels in grinding slag cement. Generally, the mill output can be increased by 15-20%, energy consumption reduced by about 10%, and the finished product temperature can be lowered by 20-40°C. Additionally, the fineness of the product is easily adjustable.

The grinding system utilizes a sealed design with spray nozzles, and features new dust and noise reduction equipment, effectively controlling dust, ore processing wastewater, sludge, and other substances.

The main bearing structure employs a double-row spherical roller bearing, reducing the power of the original motor, resulting in lower current during startup and shorter startup time, further achieving energy saving and low-carbon production.

The cement ball mill is equipped with a centralized control system for intelligent operation. The feed and discharge ports of the equipment are designed rationally, featuring overflow-type control of material discharge, which enhances the fineness of the ground material, resulting in a high rate of qualified products and a wide range of adjustable grinding fineness.

(2) High-fineness, High-output Cement Ball Mill: The high-fineness, high-output cement ball mill is mainly used in open-circuit grinding systems. It features simple equipment and process flow, low investment, and minimal factory floor space. The mill structure employs a special internal classifier and separator, with an activated device added to the fine grinding compartment. The mill discharge end has a discharge grate, reducing the size of the grinding medium in the grinding chamber, significantly enhancing grinding efficiency, and achieving high output with low energy consumption.
