Check power and restart

Firstly, make sure the air conditioner's power plug is securely inserted into the outlet and check if the outlet is functioning properly. Sometimes, simply turning off the power and restarting it can resolve temporary issues. Try turning off the air conditioner's power, wait a few minutes, then reconnect and turn it on to see if it resumes normal operation. If the problem persists, we'll proceed with a more thorough investigation.

2. Sensor Inspection and Replacement

Most E8 failures are related to the temperature sensor. Please check the sensor's operational status on the Gree air conditioner's control panel. If it shows an abnormality, it may be loose, damaged, or blocked. At this point, you can try carefully refastening or replacing the sensor. However, please note that disassembly should be done with caution, and it is recommended not to replace it yourself if you have no relevant experience to avoid causing further damage.

3. Clean the interior of the air conditioner and filters

Excessive dust inside the air conditioner can also cause sensors to malfunction. Clean the interior of the air conditioner, especially around the sensors, using compressed air or professional cleaning agents to ensure air flow. Also, inspect and clean or replace the air conditioner filter to prevent insufficient air flow from affecting the normal operation of the temperature sensor.

4. Check refrigerant pressure and outdoor unit

If the refrigerant pressure is too high, it may also cause an E8 fault. Please use a professional tool to check the refrigerant pressure and adjust as necessary. Additionally, observe the outdoor unit's air flow and outlet temperature. If the temperature is too high, it indicates that the outdoor unit may need cleaning. Clean the fins with a specialized air conditioner fin cleaner to enhance heat dissipation. However, please note that the power must be disconnected during cleaning to avoid electric shock.
