Introduction to Metallurgical Cranes.

Structural Features:

- Bridge Frame Structure: Primarily utilizes box-shaped main beams, such as double girder bridge structures, offering excellent vertical and horizontal rigidity, capable of bearing significant loads.

- Lifting Mechanism: Typically equipped with two drive units and two braking systems, including the working brake and the safety brake, to ensure safe and reliable operation in the event of a failure in one drive or braking system.

- Electrical System: Insulation protection measures are applied to electrical equipment such as motors. The lifting operation motor uses a cone-shaped rotor motor with a higher starting torque to accommodate the frequent direct starts in the intermittent operation of the crane, and high-temperature-resistant cables are employed.

Working Principle:

By means of the longitudinal movement of large vehicles along the factory track, the lateral movement of smaller vehicles, and the lifting and lowering motion of the crane hook, hoisting, handling, and transportation operations for metal materials, equipment, and components are achieved.

Application Fields:

- Steelmaking Process: Iron ore is poured into a mixer furnace or directly into a converter in the converter workshop. Steel can also be lifted and placed on the continuous casting tundish or refining furnace turntable.

- Rolling Process: Hoisting steel billets to the rolling mill for rolling, and then lifting the rolled steel to the finished product storage area.

Non-ferrous Metallurgy: Used in non-ferrous metal smelting plants for hoisting various raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.

- Hot Processing Workshop: Used for lifting high-temperature workpieces in workshops such as forging and heat treatment, for operations like forging and quenching.
