During metal cutting, it is required that the cutting fluid have good cleaning properties. It must remove chips,磨屑, iron filings, oil污, and sand particles, preventing contamination of machine tools and workpieces, ensuring that the cutting edges of blades or grinding wheels remain sharp without affecting cutting performance. For oil-based cutting oils, the lower the viscosity, the stronger the cleaning ability, especially for oils containing light components like those mentioned, which offer better penetration and cleaning performance. Water-based cutting fluids containing surfactants provide good cleaning results as they form an adsorption film on the surface, preventing particles and sludge from adhering to workpieces and grinding wheels. Simultaneously, they penetrate into the interface where particles and sludge are adhered, detaching them from the surface, and carrying them away with the cutting fluid to maintain cleanliness.
The cutting fluid has excellent stability and can be stored for over a year. The needle-tipped concentrated cutting fluid has no corrosive effect on the workpiece surface.
The cutting fluid is free of harmful substances such as arsenic and does not contain chlorine compounds, making it an environmentally friendly cutting fluid. It boasts excellent pressure-lubricating properties.
Selecting the appropriate cutting fluid is crucial for ensuring quality processing, as different materials require different cutting fluid needs. For lightweight metals like aluminum: due to their tendency to adhere and their soft nature, a water-based cutting fluid with high cooling capacity and low viscosity should be used. This cutting fluid effectively prevents chip buildup, reduces friction during processing, thus preventing overheating during cutting and ensuring the surface finish remains smooth.
The purpose of cutting fluid: Generally diluted with tap water for use, typically used at a concentration of 5-10% (diluted 10-20 times with water) for general cutting and wire cutting processes, and at a concentration of 3-4% (diluted with more than 2 times water) for grinding operations.
Coolants have a shelf life limit: generally, water-soluble products have a valid storage period of 1-3 years from the date of manufacture (varies by type and manufacturer), while pure oil-based products have a valid storage period of 2-5 years from the date of manufacture (varies by type and manufacturer). Products past their shelf life must undergo quality testing to ensure they are in good condition before use.
