Ball valves are a widely adopted type of valve, featuring the following advantages:
Low fluid resistance, its drag coefficient is equal to that of a pipe section of the same length.
2. Simple structure, compact, and lightweight.
3. Tight and reliable, ball valves widely use plastic for their sealing surfaces, offering excellent sealing properties and are extensively used in vacuum systems.
4. Easy to operate, quick to open and close; it takes just a 90° rotation from fully open to fully closed, making it convenient for long-distance control.
5. Easy maintenance with a simple ball valve structure; most sealing rings are movable, making disassembly and replacement quite convenient.
6. When fully open or closed, the sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat are isolated from the medium. During passage of the medium, there is no erosion of the valve sealing surface.
7. Wide application range, from a few millimeters to several meters in diameter, and from high vacuum to high pressure. Valves of this type are generally installed horizontally in pipelines.
