This current limiter is specifically designed for high load starting currents. However, as the load is energized, the current quickly drops to reach a balanced state. The self-limiting temperature electric heating tape typically starts with a current 3-5 times higher than the normal operating current, with a short duration of high current, usually 20-40 seconds. Its main technical feature is that the limiter includes an automatic voltage regulation circuit board connected in series with the load within the protective box. The automatic voltage regulation circuit is controlled by an automatic phase shifting circuit unit, a time delay circuit unit controlling the relay circuit unit, and a DC power supply circuit. This limiter automatically adjusts the conduction angle of the thyristor controlled pole, gradually increasing the voltage across the load to reach the rated value. This current limiter can be installed in a power distribution box or a distribution panel, effectively preventing circuit overloads caused by the high starting current of the electric heating tape.
