Power plant instrumentation pipelines, such as main steam flow, outlet steam pressure, drum saturated steam pressure, and reheater inlet steam pressure, are prone to freezing and blocking due to their small diameters in winter. Therefore, power plants now commonly use electric heating tapes for pipe heating. However, the interfaces of valves or transmitters are sometimes susceptible to leaks, causing the pipeline temperature to rise significantly, sometimes reaching up to 600 degrees. Standard electric heating tapes or heating cables cannot be used effectively in such pipelines. But MI heating cables, with their high-temperature resistance, are well-suited for the job.
Our company's electric heating system for power plants is specifically designed for power plants, chemical factories, cement plants, etc., with steam pipelines, including special electric heat bands and MI mineral insulated heating cables. The characteristic of our electric heat bands is that an insulating layer is added between the sheath and the shielding layer, allowing direct installation on the pipe walls with steam sweep lines. The MI mineral insulated heating cables, due to their unique structure and materials, can withstand temperatures up to 800℃, with power customizable from 5W/M to 269W/M and even heat distribution, thereby solving the inconvenience of using insulating clamps and other insulating methods for installing electric heat bands on steam pipelines.
Not only does it save installation and maintenance costs, but the electric heat tape and MI mineral insulated heating cables are also directly installed on the pipe wall, making the heat tracing effect more direct and effective. This reduces energy consumption and operating costs. Therefore, electric heat tape and MI mineral insulated heating cables for steam pipelines are excellent products for frost protection and heat tracing.
