The gate is mainly composed of three parts:
① The main operational section, used to close or open openings, commonly referred to as a gate, also known as a leaf.
② Grouting section
③ Accessory for opening and closing.
The activity section includes weight-bearing structures such as panel beams, supporting walking parts, guide and water-stop devices, and lifting ears. The embedded part includes main tracks, guide tracks, hinge seats, lintels, sill plates, and water-stop bases, which are embedded around the openings and securely connected to the concrete of hydraulic structures with anchor rods. These form supports for the walking parts on the gate leaf and water-stop surfaces, facilitating the transfer of water pressure and other loads on the gate leaf structure to the hydraulic structures and achieving excellent gate water-stop performance. The opening and closing machinery is connected to the lifting ears of the gate leaf to control the position of the activity section, but some gates also rely on hydraulic automatic control for operation.
