Thermogravimetric analysis (TG, TGA) involves observing the change in sample mass with temperature or time during heating, isothermal, or cooling processes, with the aim of studying the thermal stability and composition of materials. It is widely used in research and development, process optimization, and quality control across various fields, including plastics, rubber, coatings, pharmaceuticals, catalysts, inorganic materials, metals, and composites.


The primary characteristics of thermal gravimetric analysis are its strong quantitative nature and the ability to accurately measure changes in the mass and their rates. Based on this feature, it can be said that any substance that undergoes mass changes upon heating can be studied using thermal gravimetric analysis. Thermal gravimetric analysis can be used to detect physical and chemical changes processes. We can observe that these physical and chemical changes are accompanied by mass changes, such as sublimation, vaporization, adsorption, desorption, absorption, and gas-solid reactions.


Product Features


The furnace heating employs a double row winding of precious metal nickel-chromium alloy wire, reducing interference and offering higher heat resistance.

2. Tray sensor, precision-engineered from precious metal nickel-chromium alloy, boasts high-temperature resistance, anti-oxidation, and corrosion resistance.

3. Power supply, separate the cooling system and main unit to minimize the impact of heat and vibration on the micro-thermal balance.

4. Features an easy-to-use top-lid structure. Moving the furnace body to place the sample is difficult and prone to damaging the sample rod.

5. The main unit is equipped with a water-temperature-regulating device to isolate the heat influence from the heating furnace on the casing and the micro-thermometer balance.

6. Utilizes a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor core for faster sampling and processing speeds.

7. 24-bit four-channel sampling AD collects data from DSC signals, TG signals, and temperature T signals.

8. Available for body replacement according to customer requirements.

9. The furnace chamber features both automatic and manual lifting capabilities.

Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer - Infrared Coupling Introduction


Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer-Infrared Spectrometer Coupling System (hereinafter referred to as TGA-IR Coupling) utilizes purge gas (usually nitrogen or air) to introduce volatiles or decomposition products generated during the thermal gravimetric process through a connecting tube maintained at a constant high temperature (typically 200-230°C) into a heated, isothermal gas cell within an infrared sample chamber (usually 200-230°C). The infrared spectrometer is then used to detect and analyze the structural composition of the escaping gas components. Due to its ability to address the limitations of thermal gravimetry, which only provides thermal decomposition temperatures and weight loss percentages without precise identification of volatile gas components, this technology is widely applied in the study of thermal stability and decomposition mechanisms of various organic and inorganic materials.
