Magnetic separator drum rolls are a common equipment in modern iron-removing processes. The surface of the magnetic separator drum comes into direct contact with mineral powder during operation, often leading to wear on the drum rolls. Once the drum skin is worn, slurry can enter the magnetic drum, adhere to the surface of the magnetic system, and either lock between the tube and the magnetic system or directly enter the bearings, causing damage to the entire equipment. Therefore, it is essential to protect the drum during the use of the magnetic separator.

The magnetic separator drum should undergo a small-scale maintenance every six months based on its own conditions.

The specific maintenance includes: Not disassembling and cleaning the gear inside the drum (such as bevel gears or planetary gears) and all supporting parts, as well as replacing the cooling lubricating oil.

The magnetic separator drum should be subject to a moderate-scale maintenance at least once a year, based on actual usage.

(1) Disassemble the bracket, end cover, cylinder, clean the inner wall of the cylinder, and inspect the wear condition of the gears, spur gears, and bearings.

(2) Inspect the load-bearing areas, check for deformation of the keys and keyways, and assess the wear on the oil seals.

The scheduled maintenance for the magnetic separator drum is conducted every two years.

All components must be removed, inspected, repaired, or replaced. For oil-immersed electric roller applications, the oil must be used strictly according to the specifications outlined in the user manual. Users are not permitted to change the oil type arbitrarily to prevent motor damage.
