Direct steam heating is used for the body of direct heating vulcanization autoclaves, while indirect heating autoclaves typically employ steam condenser tubes inside the vessel for vulcanization. In the past, indirect heating autoclaves used a jacket structure with steam heating inside the jacket. However, this structure is now largely obsolete due to its complexity in manufacturing. Moreover, to achieve higher vulcanization temperatures, an electrically heated autoclave has been developed in recent years.
