Both natural-stone PC bricks and permeable PC bricks are types of paving bricks, widely applicable in sidewalks, urban squares, and municipal garden projects. However, customers new to these two types of paving materials may think they are the same, just with different names. In reality, there are differences between them.
One, Different raw materials
Although both artificial stone PC bricks and permeable artificial stone bricks are secondary material processed and fired at temperatures above 1200 degrees, the raw material for the artificial stone PC bricks is ceramic powder, while for the permeable artificial stone bricks, it is recycled ceramic waste after being crushed.
Two: Variations in Permeability
Imitation stone PC bricks lack permeability or have poor permeability, essentially being more similar to natural stone. In contrast, the imitation stone permeable bricks represent an upgraded version of ceramic permeable bricks, featuring the appearance of stone while also possessing the permeable properties of ceramic permeable bricks. Their permeability is no different from that of standard ceramic permeable bricks, and they also cater to the needs of sponge city construction and stone paved surfaces.
III. Varying hardness levels
Due to the different raw materials, the hardness of artificial stone PC bricks and permeable bricks varies. Standard artificial stone PC bricks with a thickness of 18mm are sufficient for vehicle traffic, whereas permeable bricks require a thickness of 50mm or more to accommodate vehicle traffic.
