The Principle of Gearbox: The reduction is achieved by using a gear with fewer teeth on the input shaft and a larger gear on the output shaft of the gearbox.
The function of a reducer: It serves to match the speed and transmit torque between the prime mover and the working machine or actuator. A reducer is a relatively precise mechanical device, and its purpose is to reduce speed while increasing torque.
What to Consider When Choosing an Ideal Reducer:
1. Opt for a reduction ratio as close to the ideal as possible. Reduction ratio = Servo motor speed / reducer output shaft speed.
Torque Calculation:
For the lifespan of a gearbox, torque calculation is crucial, and it's important to note if the maximum torque value during acceleration exceeds the maximum load torque of the gearbox. If the torque calculation is done, the rotational speed can meet normal operation requirements. However, if there is a deficiency during full servo output, we can implement current limiting control on the motor side driver, or apply torque protection on the mechanical shaft. This is very necessary.
