1. Differences in Technology:

Hot-dip galvanized steel grating first submerges the welded steel grating in sulfuric acid for a sufficient amount of time, then fully immerses it in molten zinc until the zinc layer thickness reaches the national standard, typically 80um (hence also known as hot-dip zinc steel grating). This process ensures complete dissolution of iron and zinc, resulting in a steel grating with a zinc layer that has strong adhesion and is not prone to peeling. Consequently, hot-dip galvanized steel grating boasts excellent corrosion resistance, with a high hardness and zinc coating weight.

Galvanized steel grating by cold galvanizing, also known as electro-galvanizing, involves dissolving zinc salts in a zinc bath and applying them to the steel grating through an electric current. The zinc coating is typically thin and does not require heating. It tends to peel off quickly in humid conditions. However, it is less expensive than hot-dip galvanized steel grating. From a long-term perspective, it is recommended to opt for hot-dip galvanizing treatment.

2. Difference in Corrosion Resistance Properties:

Hot-dip galvanized steel grating features a thick and hard zinc coating, effectively隔绝 iron from air. This means the grating can last for decades without damaging the zinc coating. In contrast, cold-dip galvanized steel grating has a thin zinc layer, which, due to simple processing, can easily be scratched off. Hence, it often rusts quickly in damp and dark environments.

3. Surface Color Identification:

Hot-dip galvanized steel grating is silver-white upon production, with vibrant color, turning light gray after long-term oxidation but will not rust. Cold-dip galvanized steel grating, on the other hand, is light white upon production, with a milder hue, and will flake off upon a slight pull, similar to painted steel.
