We can handle it with a dedicated blade sharpener; of course, it can be done on a flat grinder as well. The frequency of punch and lower die blade sharpening is typically 4:1, and after sharpening, you'll need to adjust the mold height yourself.
Note that the thickness of the stamped sheet material determines the amount of tool grinding.
Below, we'll highlight some key elements to consider during the sharpening process (highlighted, as they will be tested).
The blade grinding amount is typically 4mm. Once this value is reached, the punch will become worn out. If the punch is not replaced at this point, the mold and machine are very susceptible to damage.
2. We will ensure the surface of the grinding wheel is thoroughly cleaned.
3. Recommend using a loose, coarse, soft sand wheel, such as WA46KV.
3. The amount of material removed per grinding operation (cutting depth) should not exceed 0.015 millimeters. Excessive material removal can cause the mold surface to overheat, akin to annealing, making the mold softer and significantly reducing its lifespan.
After sharpening, the blade should be thoroughly cleaned, degaussed, and oiled. The edges need to be treated with an oil stone to remove excessively sharp edges.
Prepare an adequate supply of coolant.
