Firefighting equipment refers to items such as fire extinguishers, dry sand boxes, and fire hoses, which are essential for extinguishing various types of fires and serve as the primary weapons in the battle against flames. To ensure home fire safety, it is imperative to equip the appropriate firefighting gear. The Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security issued the "Common Knowledge on Home Fire Emergency Equipment" on December 8, 2010, specifying that the following types of firefighting equipment should be provided in homes:
1. Standalone Fire Smoke Alarm: Battery-powered, typically installed overhead in halls and rooms, it detects smoke early in a fire and promptly alerts, enabling timely early detection of fire situations.
2. Portable Fire Extinguisher: Opt for a portable ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher and place it in an easily accessible location for initial fire suppression in homes. Be mindful to prevent it from getting damp and rusting.
3. Fire Extinguishing Blanket: Made by weaving materials such as glass fiber through special processing, the fire extinguishing blanket can isolate heat sources and flames, and is suitable for extinguishing oil pan fires or covering oneself for escape.
4. Standalone Smoke Detector: Powered by a 9V stacked battery or AC220V directly, easy to install and use. It can operate independently for detection and alarm without the need to connect to a fire alarm controller.
5. ABC Dry Chemical or Water-Based Fire Extinguishers: Quickly extinguish fires or assist in evacuation during emergencies.
6. Fire Extinguishing Filtered Self-Rescue Breathing Apparatus: The fire extinguishing filtered self-rescue breathing apparatus is a personal protective equipment designed to prevent toxic gases from entering the respiratory tract during a fire. It consists of a protective helmet, filter unit, and mask, and can be used for escape and self-rescue in dense smoke environments within a fire scene.
7. Standalone Home Gas Alarm: Battery-powered, requiring no electricity connection. Typically installed in the kitchen, this alarm emits both sound and light alerts in the event of gas leakage, providing early warnings to take action.
