The slotted soft-seated gate valve is an industrial valve, with the gate plate as the opening and closing element. The motion direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the fluid direction. The gate valve can only be fully open or fully closed; it cannot be used for regulation or throttling. The gate plate has two sealing surfaces. In common pattern gate valve design, these two sealing surfaces form a wedge shape, with the wedge angle varying with valve parameters, typically 50°, and 2°52' when the medium temperature is not high.
