Why did the component wear performance decrease after the diesel generator was recovered?
1. Low engine coolant temperature can lead to premature component wear, as excessively low temperatures cause a larger clearance between the cylinder sleeve and piston of the generator, resulting in vibration and early wear during piston movement within the cylinder. Keep in mind that the operating temperature for the engine unit is between 80-95°C. If the generator unit temperature exceeds 105°C, the unit must be immediately shut down for maintenance; otherwise, severe scoring or seizing incidents may occur.
2. Formation of Ashy Smoke: The majority of ashy smoke is caused by incomplete combustion of gasoline and diesel. The particle size of ashy smoke ranges from 0.05 to 1 millimeter, with most of it being able to pass through regular filters. However, due to the electrically charged particles in the smoke, which attract each other like magnets, they can coalesce into lumps. Thick and sticky ashy smoke increases engine oil viscosity, forming dirt and sediments that obstruct oil passages and filters.
3. Oxidation and aging of engine oil. Gasoline and diesel, when burned with air, produce oxidation and nitrogen oxides. Solution: To control the oxidation of engine oil, antioxidant additives must be added to钝ize the catalytic effect of metal on oxidation, achieving the purpose of maintaining oil quality and protecting the machinery.
4. Loss of Viscosity: Due to varying operating temperatures of the engine, the loss of viscosity can lead to engine wear.
