Specification Setting
The specifications of channel steel are primarily indicated by dimensions such as height (h), flange width (b), and web thickness (d). Domestic channel steel specifications range from 5 to 40 numbers, corresponding to heights of 5 to 40 cm.
At the same height, light槽钢 has narrower legs, thinner waists, and is lighter than standard槽钢. Sizes 18-40 are considered large槽钢, while sizes 5-16 are medium-sized槽钢. Imported槽钢 are marked with actual dimensions and relevant standards. Ordering of槽steel for import/export generally focuses on the specifications required for use after determining the corresponding carbon structural steel (or low-alloy steel) grade. Besides the specification number,槽steel does not have a specific composition or performance series.
The delivery length of channel steel is available in two types: fixed length and multiple length, with allowable tolerances specified in the respective standards. The length selection range of domestic channel steel varies based on the specification number, including 5-12m, 5-19m, and 6-19m options. The length selection range for imported channel steel is generally 6-15m.
