Anti-Cheating Measures -- Oral exams are conducted through computer-based testing, with all questions being objective. Without partitions, screens are visible to each other, making anti-cheating measures ineffective. While some computer-based exams (such as the judicial exam) use anti-peep strips on the answer area, these can affect the candidate's test-taking experience and disrupt the examiner's interface design, and their effectiveness in preventing cheating is not optimal. Therefore, partitions are used to prevent candidates from seeing each other's screen content, while still allowing invigilators and teachers to monitor their gaze and expressions. As a result, partitions are commonly used in almost all international exams, such as the GRE and TOEFL, to prevent cheating.

2. Anti-Interference – Participants in the oral exams are all minors with slightly lower resilience to distractions. In language proficiency tests, especially those not in their native language, candidates often lack confidence, tend to be anxious, and are susceptible to external disturbances. These include the movement of people in and out of the examination room, other candidates raising their hands and the responses from the invigilators, subtle movements and expressions between neighboring candidates, all of which can significantly impact the candidates' listening and, particularly, their oral exam performance. During the oral exam, the noise from other candidates answering can be even more disruptive. Therefore, for language courses, teaching, practice, and exams typically employ individual cubicles to minimize distractions, protect the confidence of learners and test-takers, and ensure uninterrupted eye contact with the instructor on stage, without affecting the camera shots of the proctoring system.

In accordance with the standards for international standardized tests like TOEFL and GRE, it is essential to have a screen at least 40 to 60 centimeters above the desk to enclose both the test taker and their computer. This ensures that the examinee's screen and expressions are not visible to others (facial expressions can be used to cheat, such as touching the nose or ears).

3. Noise Reduction – Exam partitions effectively reduce other noise sources within the exam room. Measured in decibels, the noise level can be reduced by 2-5 dB with or without partitions. In oral exams, the microphone on the earphones primarily picks up mid-frequency sounds (300Hz-3400Hz). The audio in this frequency range is easily noise-reduced by the grid-like layout of the partitions. Therefore, using a decibel meter that can measure frequency bands can show that sturdy dividing screens significantly reduce the noise generated by human voices in the exam room. The effect is impressive.

4. Multi-functional tables, diverse work modes in one room, resource sharing, and avoiding redundant capital investment. Here's an introduction to the four work modes:

(1) Paper-based exam mode: raise the screen divider, lower the monitor (with monitor lift) or cover it (with monitor flipper)

(2) Computer Exam Mode: Screen rises, monitor rises (with monitor lift) or flips open (with monitor flip stand)

(3) Computer-based teaching mode: Lower the screen divider and raise the monitor (with monitor lift) or flip it open (with monitor flipper)

(4) Standard Teaching Mode: Lower the screen divider and raise (with display riser) or flip open (with display flipper) the monitor

In summary, due to the needs for anti-cheating, anti-interference, noise reduction, and multi-functional use in one space, the construction of a multi-functional screen divider lift intelligent voice room is a trend.
