Double-faced felt is a type of fabric, which refers to the natural fluffy surface formed by using a napping machine to raise single or double yarns during the production process.Made from natural materials such as wool and cashmere, the fabric feels smooth and is meticulously crafted on both sides, hence the name "two-sided felt." The two-sided felt fabric cannot be stitched with machines and must be sewn by hand.
The double-sided cashmere is soft and more expensive. The market offers double-sided cashmere in grades of 30%, 50%, and 70%. Clothing made of double-sided cashmere is relatively rare, with the first two grades being more common. Items crafted from double-sided cashmere are light, comfortable, warm, and boast excellent resilience of the wool fibers.
The main differences between two-sided wool and two-sided cashmere lie in three aspects.
1. Price: The price of both sides tweed is relatively low, while the price of both sides cashmere is higher. The basic price for pure cashmere fabric, with a standard width of 1.5 meters, is approximately $1,000 to $1,300 per meter.
2. Color PerceptionPlace a cashmere coat under light or in a bright area. A truly high-quality cashmere coat has a bright but not dazzling color, even tone, fine texture, and full nap that slightly glows under light.
3. TextureCashmere overcoats are soft to the touch, with a smooth texture that is quite comfortable. Poor-quality cashmere or wool overcoats, on the other hand, have a rough texture and can be itchy. Additionally, when a cashmere overcoat is gently stretched and then released, a high-quality one should promptly return to its original shape. Lower-quality ones, due to loose structure and poor elasticity, are more prone to distortion.
