Metallic Bellows Expansion Joint Installation Standards:

Before installation, check the type and specifications of the expansion joint and ensure that the pipe supports are configured to meet design requirements.

During the installation process, it is strictly prohibited for welding slag to splash onto the surface of the bellows or cause any other mechanical damage to the bellows.

3. For bellows with an inner sleeve, attention should be given to align the direction of the inner sleeve with the flow direction of the medium (install according to the flow direction标志 on the bellows). The hinge rotation plane of the flat angle-type expansion joint should be consistent with the displacement plane.

4. Expansion joints requiring cold shrinking should have their auxiliary components used for pre-deformation removed after the piping system is fully installed.

All moving components of the expansion joint must not be jammed or restricted by external components, thereby hindering the normal operation of their movement areas.

Upon completion of the pipeline system installation, the auxiliary positioning mechanism and fasteners used for installation and transportation protection on the expansion joint should be immediately removed. The limiting device should then be adjusted to the specified position as per design requirements, allowing the pipeline system to be fully compensated under environmental conditions.

Do not use spot welding or makeshift welding when installing pipe supports or brackets.

8. The installation of expansion joints must ensure coaxial alignment. First, lay out the pipe sections, then cut a section of pipe of the same length as the expansion joint at the location where the expansion joint is to be installed. After attaching the expansion joint and welding it in place, it is not permitted to force the adaptation of pipeline installation misalignment through the deformation of the compensator.

9. During hydrostatic testing of expansion joints and their connecting pipelines for gas media, temporary supports should be added to prevent sagging of the expansion joints and pipelines. These temporary supports should be removed after the pressure test is completed.

When pressure testing pipe sections with unconfined expansion joints, the intermediate support brackets should be reinforced to withstand the original design load and the thrust from the blind flange of the internal pressure.
