There are various types of thermometers, including mercury thermometers, digital thermometers, liquid crystal thermometers, electronic thermometers, infrared thermometers, and semiconductor thermometers. Details are as follows:
Mercury Thermometer
Mercury thermometers are a type of expansible thermometer. Mercury has a freezing point of -39°C and a boiling point of 356.7°C, with a measurement range of -39°C to 357°C. They are only suitable for on-site supervision. Using them to measure temperature is not only simple and intuitive but also avoids errors associated with external remote thermometers. The readings from these mercury thermometers are quite accurate. To measure a person's body temperature, simply place it under the tongue or in the armpit and wait for 5 minutes. Once removed, the data can be read. Normal body temperature is 36.8°C, while a fever can raise the temperature to above 37.5°C.
2. Digital Thermometer
Digital thermometers are one type of temperature-measuring instruments. Depending on the temperature-measuring substance and range, there are kerosene thermometers, alcohol thermometers, mercury thermometers, gas thermometers, resistance thermometers, thermocouple thermometers, radiometric thermometers, photometric thermometers, and bimetallic thermometers, among others. Digital thermometers accurately judge and measure temperatures, displaying them numerically rather than with pointers or mercury. Hence, they are referred to as digital thermometers or digital thermometers. There are many types based on the measurement range, such as kerosene thermometers, mercury thermometers, resistance thermometers, etc., each with a different temperature measurement range.
3. Liquid Crystal Thermometer
The primary materials for liquid crystal thermometers are liquid crystal and glass. Liquid crystals made with different formulations have varying phase transition temperatures. When they transition, their optical properties change, causing the liquid crystal to appear colored. If different phase transition liquid crystals are applied to a single paper, the color changes of the liquid crystal can indicate the temperature. The advantage of this thermometer is its ease of reading; as the temperature changes, its properties also change, and the liquid crystal will change color. This type of thermometer is often used in fish tanks, although the measured data is relatively inaccurate.
5. AoYuanYuan Electronic Thermometer
Digital thermometers are composed of temperature sensors, batteries, dedicated integrated circuits, and other electronic components. They display temperature digitally by utilizing a fixed relationship between resistance, current, and temperature. Electronic thermometers are characterized by their quick measurement speed, ease of reading, and high accuracy. Additionally, they can measure different body parts without the risk of mercury contamination.
6. Infrared Thermometer
Infrared thermometers are a high-tech online monitoring detection technology that receives infrared radiation emitted by objects, displaying their thermal images on a fluorescent screen to accurately determine the temperature distribution on the surface of the objects. In the production process, infrared temperature measurement technology plays a crucial role in quality control and monitoring of products, online equipment fault diagnosis and safety protection, as well as energy conservation. Infrared temperature measurement boasts advantages such as fast response time, non-contact, safe operation, and long service life.
7. Semiconductor Thermometer
Semiconductor thermometers are temperature measurement instruments composed of semiconductor elements based on their characteristic relationship with temperature. Comprising thermistors, connecting wires, and a display gauge, they offer high sensitivity, simple construction, and compact size. They are commonly used to measure temperatures close to room temperature, as well as rapid temperature changes and spot temperatures. Semiconductor thermometers are known for their high sensitivity, small size, and ease of reading.
