What are the main properties of hydraulic oil?
Hydraulic oil, besides its primary function of energy transmission, serves various purposes such as mechanical lubrication, reducing friction and wear, preventing rust and corrosion, sealing, cooling, and flushing. Therefore, it should possess the following properties: appropriate viscosity and good viscosity-temperature characteristics, good oxidative stability, good emulsification resistance, good lubricity and wear resistance, good anti-foaming and air release properties, good hydrolytic stability, good shear resistance, good filterability, and good compatibility with sealing materials. These are the common requirements for hydraulic oil. Special hydraulic systems may have additional specific requirements, such as flame resistance for those operating near high temperatures, ultra-low pour points and good low-temperature flow for systems operating at low temperatures, etc.
Some key properties of hydraulic oil include:
1. Abrasion resistance
2. Emulsification stability and hydrolytic stability
3. Anti-foaming and air release properties
4. Shear Stability
Adaptability to sealed materials
Abrasive hydraulic oil
(1) Appropriate viscosity and excellent viscosity-temperature properties to ensure proper lubrication, cooling, and sealing of hydraulic components under varying working pressures and temperatures.
(2) Excellent extreme pressure and wear resistance ensure that the friction pairs in oil pumps, hydraulic motors, control valves, and cylinders receive normal lubrication under high pressure and high-speed, stringent conditions, thereby reducing wear.
(3) Excellent antioxidant stability, hydrolysis stability, and thermal stability to withstand the effects or influence of factors such as air, moisture, and high temperature and pressure, making it less prone to aging and deterioration, thereby extending its service life.
(4) Excellent anti-foaming properties and air release values ensure that foam generated under the intense mechanical stirring during operation dissipates rapidly; it also releases air mixed with oil in a short time, achieving accurate, sensitive, and stable transmission of static pressure.
(5) Excellent anti-foaming properties, which allow for rapid separation of water mixed with oil, preventing the formation of emulsions and minimizing metal corrosion in the hydraulic system as well as reducing performance.
(6) Excellent corrosion resistance to prevent rust on metal surfaces.
