30CrMnSiA is a medium-carbon steel with high strength and poor welding properties. Heat-treated 30CrMnSiA boasts excellent strength and sufficient toughness, along with good hardenability. Suitable for making sandwheel shafts, gears, and sprockets. It also has good machinability, minimal machining deformation, and exceptional fatigue resistance, making it ideal for parts like shafts, pistons, and various automotive and aircraft special wear-resistant components.
Chemical composition of 30CrMnSiA:
Carbon C: 0.28~0.34
Silicon (Si): 0.90~1.20
Manganese (Mn): 0.80~1.10
Sulfur S: Allowable residual content ≤ 0.025
Phosphorus (P): Allowable residual content ≤ 0.025
Chromium (Cr): 0.80~1.10
Nickel (Ni): Permitted residual content ≤ 0.030
Copper (Cu): Allowable residual content ≤ 0.025
30CrMnSiA round steel delivery condition:
Delivered in heat treated (normalizing, annealing, or high-temperature tempering) or unheated condition, the delivery status should be specified in the contract.
It has high strength but is medium-carbon quenched and tempered steel with poor hardenability, thus exhibiting poor welding properties.
The material, after heat treatment, boasts high strength and sufficient toughness, with good hardenability. It can be used to manufacture abrasive wheel shafts, gears, and sprockets after heat treatment. For cutting tools, rough machining into the tool shape is required. Perform heat treatment. Use carbide milling cutters to machine the blade edges and polish them with a polishing machine. Achieving a surface roughness of 3.2 should be no issue.
