2Cr13 stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel with magnetic properties, good hardness, and requires preheating for welding. When welding with Q235, use Austenitic stainless steel welding rods without preheating, control the weld seam dilution rate during welding, do not oscillate the welding, and use a lower current.
2Cr13 is a type of stainless steel known as Chrome 13. This grade of steel is suitable for manufacturing parts or appliances that operate in neutral or mild corrosive environments, such as medical surgical instruments, household knives, turbine blades, and stainless steel nuts.
This steel is typically subjected to quenching and high-temperature tempering treatment, resulting in a structure of tempered sorbite, with good plasticity and toughness, and lower strength and hardness.

Quenching hardness of 2Cr13 stainless steel:
The quenching temperature for general 2Cr13 is between 980-1050°C. When quenched in oil at 980°C, the hardness is significantly lower than that quenched at 1050°C, with a hardness of 45-50HRC after oil quenching at 980°C, and 2HRC higher after oil quenching at 1050°C. However, the microstructure obtained after quenching at 1050°C has larger grain size and higher brittleness. It is recommended to use 1000°C for heating and quenching to achieve better microstructure and hardness.
