With the industrialization process of modern society, hydraulic lifting platforms hold a vital role. Here, we introduce the history of hydraulic lifting platforms.

The emergence of hydraulic lifting platforms can be traced back to ancient China and various European countries, where pulleys and other tools were used for vertical transportation of people and goods. Modern hydraulic lifting platforms are a product of the 19th century following the invention of the steam engine. In 1845, the first hydraulic lifting platform was born, using water as the fluid. In 1853, American Elisha Otis invented the automatic safety device, significantly enhancing the safety of steel cable-driven hydraulic lifting platforms. On March 23, 1857, a five-story store in New York City installed the first passenger hydraulic lifting platform equipped with Otis' safety device. Since then, the use of hydraulic lifting platforms has been widely accepted and rapidly developed. Initially, hydraulic lifting platforms were powered by steam engines, necessitating the presence of boiler rooms in buildings. In 1880, the German Siemens invented an electric-powered hydraulic lifting platform, marking the official birth of the "hydraulic lifting platform." Since then, the use of hydraulic lifting platforms has been widely accepted and rapidly developed. In modern times, we use wooden ladders for lifting goods, which are not only inconvenient but also dangerous to climb. In 1907, the six-story Grand Hotel installed two Otis hydraulic lifting platforms. Commercial hydraulic lifting platforms in Taiwan were installed in 1932 during the Japanese occupation period, located at the "Kikuyama Department Store" in Taipei, then known as a "funicular."

Currently, there is a wide variety of hydraulic lifting platforms produced domestically, featuring different models and lifting heights ranging from 4 meters to even several dozen meters. Hangbo Company selects advanced hydraulic systems, motors, pump stations, explosion-proof hydraulic devices, and hydraulic self-locking devices from both domestic and international sources. Our products boast innovative designs, reasonable structures, balanced lifting, simple operation, and convenient maintenance—attributes that are unparalleled by other products. They are extensively used for factory maintenance, industrial installation, equipment maintenance, property management, warehousing, aviation, airports, ports, stations, machinery, chemicals, electronics, power, and other high-altitude equipment installation and maintenance.
