Rivet machines, with their versatility, efficiency, and ease of operation, are increasingly embraced by a wide range of manufacturers and clients. These machines primarily use rotation and pressure to assemble rivets, including hollow, solid, and other types, and are commonly used in riveting applications. They come in various types such as pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric, with single-head and double-head models. The cold forging riveting method involves applying local pressure to the rivet using a rivet mandrel and continuously oscillating around the center until the rivet takes shape. Based on the cold forging trajectory of this riveting method, it can be divided into swing forging riveting and radial riveting methods. Rivet machines, also known as riveting machines, swaging machines, riveting machines, and rolling riveting machines, are a new type of riveting equipment developed based on the cold forging principle. They are mechanical equipment that can rivet items together using rivets. The equipment features a compact structure, stable performance, and easy, safe operation.
In the process of riveting workpieces, the pendulum-type riveting machine offers excellent stability, preventing radial vibrations that could affect the quality of the workpiece. Particularly during arc-shaped riveting, the pendulum-type riveting allows for the workpiece to be riveted without manual contact, simplifying the riveting process. Common types of riveting machines include automatic riveting machines (mainly for semi-hollow rivets, capable of automatic feeding and high riveting efficiency!) and rotary riveting machines (which are further divided into pneumatic and hydraulic models, primarily used for solid rivets or larger hollow rivets).
Rivet machines can be categorized into various types based on their structural design, including slider and turntable models. Despite the differences in design, their principle is fundamentally similar. They all involve setting the workpiece into the riveting area, where the riveting process—connecting multiple parts—is then completed by the riveting machine.
The displacement of any workpiece can be considered as the result of movement in three directions: the X and Y axes control left-right and front-back, while the Z axis controls up-down. Consequently, a basic CNC structure is established. CNC riveting machines typically have a zero point, also known as a reference point. Based on this point, we need to number and calibrate the coordinates of all points to be riveted, a process that is essential. Subsequently, these coordinates and heights are input into the device's data entry page, enabling the machine to know how to rivet those points, where they are located, and their respective heights.
After inputting these coordinate points, the CNC riveting machine's procedure can operate. The machine's servo organization will move the workpiece to the point we input under the control of the procedure. At this position, the riveted workpiece should be directly under the rivet head's axis. At this moment, the equipment must calculate the Z value of this coordinate, which is the height value, to determine the riveting feed rate. Once everything is prepared, the equipment can begin the riveting process.
