The direction of the agitator in the mixing tank, whether clockwise or counterclockwise, depends on the design. If the design does not have a direction indicator, either direction is acceptable. The direction of the reducer is generally either way. Its direction is determined by the type of agitator blades, and the direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) should be specified in the design.

The direction of the stirrer cannot be changed arbitrarily, as in some cases, the stirrer blade is locked on the stirrer shaft with a locknut. Generally, the direction of rotation is opposite to the direction of the thread. The direction of rotation of the reducer's output shaft should be the same as the equipment's rotation, which determines the direction of the input shaft, and consequently, the direction of the motor. If there is a direction of rotation indicator on the reducer of the stirrer motor, the process design must also comply with the equipment's requirements. Once the stirrer in the tank is selected, its direction of rotation is fixed and cannot be altered arbitrarily.
