The primary cause is the loosening of the grate chain, compounded by the expansion of the grate due to heat, which can lead to malfunctions such as back-jamming and grate dropping. At this point, adjusting the tension bolts on both sides, tightening the chain, and adjusting the looseness of the chain are necessary. The following method can be used to determine this: when the grate is running in a cold state, suddenly set the speed reducer's speed to zero; if the grate chain reverses instantly, it indicates that the grate chain has become loose. When suddenly stopping, continue adjusting until the grate stops reversing. In this case, after the grate has expanded due to heat, the degree of looseness is appropriate.
Chain grate misalignment
Chain grate installation quality is substandard; front and rear shafts are not parallel or the shaft is bent beyond specifications. There is a significant difference in the tightness of the adjustment nuts for the grate, causing the grate to lean towards the rotating side, severely rubbing the edges, refusing to move, and thus leading to the grate's snake-like movement. In this case, first flip the guard rail, make marks on the adjustment nuts, loosen them, and then tighten symmetrically in the clockwise direction. If this treatment still does not work, inspect the main and auxiliary shafts for bending, make corrections as needed, and replace them if necessary. After installing the main and auxiliary shafts of the grate, measure their parallelism, levelness, and diagonal deviations. The diagonal deviation should be less than 10 millimeters, with the large superstructure and wall plate expansion gap being 10-12 millimeters. After correction, the main shaft's bending should not exceed 0.5 millimeters. This tilt should be distinguished from the tilt after the grate's main blade is damaged; the active blade tilts towards the undamaged side after fracturing, and the tighter the adjustment nut is twisted, the more severe the tilt becomes.
Chains grate combustion issues
The combustion on the chain rate is continuous, and the combustion process does not change over time when the load remains constant, eliminating the periodic influence of hand-fired furnaces. The chain grate is a typical pre-feeding furnace. Depending on the position of the fuel layer on the grate, the combustion condition varies, meaning combustion occurs in different zones. The newly added coal is preheated and dried at the front of the grate, quickly becoming a volatilization zone; in the middle, there is a coking combustion zone; and at the rear, it is a slag combustion zone. The combustion of the chain grate proceeds from top to bottom. Due to being "single-sided ignition," the ignition conditions are poor, and the coal type adaptability is low.
In summary, it is crucial to promptly identify and resolve any malfunctions that occur on the grate during operation. However, to ensure the efficiency of the chain grate, it is essential to focus on preventive measures, enhance the operational proficiency of combustion technology, conduct equipment maintenance, and schedule regular inspections to guarantee optimal grate performance.
