What is CNC Machining?

A Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tool and program control system is an automatic machine. The control system can logically process programs, provide control codes or symbolic instructions, and decode them, thereby enabling the machine and process components to operate. The English abbreviation is CNC.

Advantages of CNC Machining

Compared to conventional machine tools, the features of CNC machining include:

Principle of Operation

Numerical Control machine tools typically consist of the following components:

• The main machine, which is the main body of CNC machine tools, includes machine tools, columns, spindles, servo mechanisms, and other mechanical components. It is used to complete various mechanical processing tasks.

• Numerical Control devices are the core of CNC machine tools, encompassing hardware components (such as printed circuit boards, cathode ray tube displays, keypads, tape readers, etc.) and the corresponding software input for digital program parts. They complete input information storage, data transformation, interpolation calculations, and achieve various control functions.

• The transmission unit, which is the transmission component of the actuator for CNC machine tools, includes the spindle drive unit, feed device, spindle motor, and feed motor. It controls the CNC equipment under the control of the spindle and feed, via electrical or electro-hydraulic servo systems. With several linkages, it can accomplish machining of positioning, linear, plane curves, and spatial curves.

•Auxiliary equipment, some necessary accessories for CNC machine tools, to ensure the operation of CNC machine tools, such as cooling, chip removal, lubrication, lighting, and monitoring.
