The primary responsibilities of CNAS include:
In accordance with China's relevant laws and regulations, international and national standards, and norms, establish and operate a national recognized system for qualified assessment institutions, and formulate and issue normative documents such as rules, guidelines, and criteria for recognition work.
2. Conduct capability evaluations for qualified assessment institutions applying domestically and internationally, make recognition decisions, and supervise and manage the recognized assessment institutions.
3. Responsible for guiding and supervising the use of the recognized committee's emblem and recognition symbols.
4. Organize and conduct personnel training related to recognition, and carry out qualification assessment and employment management for the assessors.
5. Provide technical services to qualified assessment organizations and offer publicly available information on recognized assessment organizations to the general public.
6. Participate in international activities related to qualification assessment and recognition, and sign bilateral or multilateral recognition cooperation agreements with relevant recognized bodies, institutions, and international cooperative organizations.
7. Handling appeals and complaints related to recognition.
8. Undertake tasks entrusted by relevant departments.
9. Engage in other activities related to recognition.
