With the continuous advancement of society, generator rentals are becoming more frequent. Many generator rental companies often put in a lot of effort to cool down the generators during maintenance. So, what are some more important considerations when renting a generator?
What to pay attention to when renting a generator
Firstly, attention should be given to the selection of diesel generator rental manufacturers.
Firstly, we can compare the prices to see if they are at the average level of the same industry.
2. It's the company scale, a factory of considerable size is more reliable in terms of quality.
3. After-sales service.
4. Supply of accessories and consumables. If the unit is importing, it's essential to check whether the manufacturer has sufficient imported accessories and consumables.
2. Issues to Consider When Selecting Diesel Generator Sets
1. Company Principle. Diesel generators come in three operational modes: standard, backup, and emergency. Thus, different applications require different specifications for diesel generator sets.
2. Load Capacity. Select load capacity and load variation range based on different applications, and determine the unit capacity and standby diesel generator capacity.
3. Aircraft Operating Environment Conditions (mainly refers to altitude and climatic conditions)
4. Selection of diesel generators, choice of generator and excitation method, selection of automatic features for diesel generators.
What is the cooling method of the generator?
Closed-loop air-cooled
For steam turbines with power ratings below 50,000 kW, closed-loop air-cooling systems are commonly used, utilizing the internal fan of the motor to sweep and cool the heated components.
2. Hydrogen Cooling
Hydrogen cooling is widely used in generators with capacities ranging from 500,000 to 600,000 kilowatts. Hydrogen (with a purity of 99%) has superior heat dissipation properties compared to air, significantly reducing the ventilation friction losses of the motor and enhancing the generator's efficiency. The use of hydrogen cooling requires explosion-proof and leakage prevention measures, which makes the motor structure more complex and increases the consumption and cost of electrode materials.
3. Liquid Medium Cooling
The relative cooling capacity of water is 50 times that of air, and it can carry away the same amount of heat with a much lower water flow rate. Therefore, by using a portion of hollow conductors in the coil and performing water cooling within the conductors, the temperature rise of the motor can be significantly reduced, delaying insulation aging, and extending the service life of the motor.
