Anodized coating characteristics

1. Chemical stability of anodized film

Anodized film boasts high chemical stability and excellent corrosion resistance. The oxide film obtained through conventional oxidation methods is primarily used as a protective layer on the surfaces of aluminum and aluminum alloy parts. The protective capability of the oxide film depends on the film's thickness, porosity, and the alloy composition of the base metal. The corrosion resistance of the oxide film on pure aluminum or materials coated with pure aluminum is superior to that on aluminum alloys. This is because aluminum alloys contain metals that do not form oxide films, thereby reducing the corrosion resistance.

Anodizing Process Flow

Anodizing:

⑴ Preparation of sulfuric acid electrolyte: Made by mixing 18-20 kg of sulfuric acid with 80-82 kg of deionized water, resulting in a solution density of approximately 1.125-1.140. Occasionally, a small amount of oxalic acid is added to the sulfuric acid electrolyte to achieve a protective anodic oxidation film with good performance.

⑵ Oxidation Process: After installing the wiring instruments, treat the to-be-dyed aluminum parts as the anode and immerse them completely in the electrolyte. Then, connect the power supply and control according to the following process conditions.

Electrolyte temperature maintained at 12-25°C, anode current density 1-2 A/dm², Zhenjiang anodizing manufacturer, voltage in the tank between 13-23 V. Duration: approximately 30-40 minutes.

Anodized aluminum films have superior comprehensive properties compared to chemical oxidation films, with broader applications. Main uses include:

Insulation. As the dielectric film of capacitors, the aluminum wire winding insulation film can withstand 25V voltage per micron thickness.

(2) Enhance adhesion with organic coatings for use as a primer layer.

(3) Enhance adhesion with inorganic coatings, serving as a base for electroplating and enameling.

(4) Other developing functionalities include the deposition of magnetic alloys in porous membranes for memory elements, solar absorption panels, ultra-hard coatings, dry lubricating films, and catalyst membranes.
