Abstract: Surface modification of metal materials, enhancing their hardness, wear resistance, or corrosion resistance, involves processes such as surface carbonitriding, nitriding, boriding, or quenching. The microstructure determines the macroscopic properties of the metal material, while the depth of the treated layer dictates the area of specific property influence. Therefore, the microstructure and processing depth of the surface treatment layer are crucial for the surface properties of the metal and the overall performance of the sample.
Objective: Quality Inspection - Verify that the surface treatment layer of the product meets relevant standards or drawing specifications; Process Research and Improvement - Adjust the process flow directionally through the detection of the surface treatment layer.
Inspection Methods: Micro-structure examination (vertical specific cross-section treatment method), depth examination (chemical method, hardness method, metallographic method), generally with hardness as the specific requirement, and hardness method as the arbitration method.
