The compressibility of compacted foundation soil is manifested in significant settlement and differential settlement of buildings.
Due to backfill or structural loads, the foundation has experienced consolidation settlement.
3. Negative friction acting on the foundation of buildings causes settling of the structures.
4. Widespread ground subsidence and uneven settlement.
5. Excavation of the foundation pit has caused adjacent ground settlement.
Due to consolidation settlement caused by precipitation, the compressibility of the compacted foundation soil reflects in the size of the soil's compression modulus indicator. Therefore, measures need to be taken to increase the soil's compression modulus to reduce the settlement or uneven settlement of the foundation.
During the application of ground compaction, safety must be a top priority. Ground compaction involves large-scale construction machinery, and appropriate skill methods and monitoring techniques must be employed during operation to ensure the safety of the entire construction process.
The working site for soil compaction should be level, and the base of the gate frame and the landing area of the compactor should remain horizontal; there should be no difference in height between the two tracks. When the settlement exceeds 100mm, the area should be elevated from the beginning.
2. The foundation pile driving reverse brake must be reliable and effective. The worm gear and worm must have self-locking function. The crane boom brake must be implemented according to the factory specifications.
The materials and manufacturing quality of the primary structures and components such as the frame, beam, and hook disengager for the foundation compaction should undergo rigorous inspection. Any that do not meet the planning requirements must not be used.
