Screw jack, also known as a spiral drive mechanism.It is primarily used to convert rotational motion into linear motion or vice versa. There are those that mainly transmit energy, such as spiral presses and jacks; others that primarily transmit motion, like the feed screws on machine tool tables; and still others that adjust the relative positions of parts, such as spiral drive mechanisms. Screw jacks come in two types: sliding friction and rolling friction.

The transmission type is based on the combination of relative movement between the screw and nut. The basic transmission types of screw jacks are divided into two categories.
(1)Nut fixing, screw rotation and movement; this transmission method, due to the nut's inherent supporting role, eliminates additional axial movement that may be caused by screw shaft bearings, resulting in a simpler structure and higher transmission accuracy. However, its axial size should not be too long, otherwise its rigidity is poor. Therefore, it is only suitable for applications with short travel distances.
(2)Ball screw rotation, nut movement. This type of transmission requires the limitation of nut rotation, thus necessitating a guiding device. It features a compact structure, good ball screw rigidity, and is suitable for applications with large working travel.
