4. The fire pump equipment has an excessively high suction lift. Countermeasure: Check the existing net head (too small or too long an inlet pipe can cause significant friction loss).

5. Impediment in impeller or pipeline. Elimination measure: Check for obstructions.

Fire pump equipment is rotating in the wrong direction. Corrective action: Check the rotation direction.

Fire pump equipment is producing air or there is a leak in the inlet pipeline. Measures to eliminate: Check for air pockets and/or air leaks in the inlet pipeline.
