Stainless steel duct installation is a commonly used material in the industrial sector, primarily produced on the second or third production lines. After production, installation is required, and there are several key points to consider during this process. It is particularly important to note the issue of fully sealing the internal corner joints with sealant. To ensure that the 4-meter-long products (since the standard length of aluminum foil composite panels is 4 meters, many ducts will be 4 meters long) have their internal corner joints fully sealed, it is necessary to use long sealant, with a length of 2 meters, to guarantee the sealing process for products between 2 to 4 meters in length. This is a critical quality control point that must be strictly enforced. Any long products found to have unsealed corners must be reworked. When installing the stainless steel duct's connecting components, angle pads must be added at the four corners due to the internal pressure on the product walls concentrating at the duct's corner turns. When the side length is greater than 320mm, the four corners of the product no longer meet the stiffness requirements and can easily deform under external forces. Therefore, when installing rectangular ducts with a side length greater than 320mm, galvanized right-angle pads (thickness not less than 0.75mm) should be applied to the four corners of the product to increase its overall strength and rigidity. Sealing treatment is essential for the internal reinforcement of stainless steel ducts due to the low inherent strength of the product panels. Generally, zinc-plated bolt internal reinforcement is used, with bolt diameters not less than 8mm. It should be noted that if the sealing treatment is not properly addressed at the point where the bolt passes through the duct panel, it can lead to air leakage concerns during system operation. During the internal reinforcement process, it is particularly important to add washers on both sides of the pipe wall and perform sealing treatment (apply sealant) for this process, as it is often overlooked or cut corners during construction.
