Why Add an Auxiliary Roller!
During the design process and leveling machine production, the equipment manufacturer strictly considers the machine's precision, imposing rigorous requirements on the diameter of the leveling roller. The commonly used specifications include diameters of 12, 20, and 32 inches. The leveled coils typically exhibit a certain degree of curvature rather than being flat; particularly for coils with diagonal warping, leveling is impossible and the leveling effect is poor. This is the reason for increasing the diameter of the leveling roller.
How to Increase Leveling Auxiliary Rollers?
In response to the aforementioned defects, the leveling machine is equipped with an auxiliary leveling roller set at a width of 300mm. The centers of the upper and lower auxiliary rollers are arranged in an offset manner vertically, providing reinforcing support to the leveling roller, thereby preventing deformation of the leveling roller. This increases the downward pressure during leveling, and the auxiliary rollers can be freely adjusted by directly engaging with the adjustable wheel fixed to the upper template, ensuring the ability to level various irregular coil materials.
The auxiliary leveling roller, also known as the leveling machine reinforcement device, features upper and lower roller axles not aligned on the same vertical plane. The ends of the auxiliary leveling roller are fitted with the roller sliders of the adjustment device; these sliders glide within grooves of the roller bracket. The adjustment device's sliding seats at both ends are connected to the roller sliders, with pins connecting two adjustment rods near the ends. The spring is wound around the adjustment rods, while the other end rests against the shoulder of the adjustment wheel axle. The adjustment device's adjustment wheel is equipped with a scale ring between it and the upper template, with a scale ring pad fixed below the ring. There are clips and bearings between the pad and the upper template; the adjustment wheel is secured by a clip holding its lower end. Both ends of the auxiliary leveling roller can be adjusted vertically, allowing for the flattening of diagonally twisted coil materials.
3. The Function of the Auxiliary Roller
When using a leveling machine equipped with auxiliary leveling roller, the material to be leveled passes through the upper and lower rollers mounted on the roller bracket, then into the auxiliary leveling roller area. The auxiliary leveling rollers further flatten it. If the flattened roll is not perfectly level, an adjustable device mounted on the upper template can be adjusted to achieve complete flatness. The adjustment process is as follows: rotating the adjustment wheel drives the spring, which, due to its vertically fixed position, moves the adjusting rod up and down. This, in turn, moves one or both ends of the adjusting slide seat up and down, causing the roller slide blocks fixed to it to drive the auxiliary leveling rollers and change their vertical relative positions at both ends, achieving complete leveling.
